Devils Cardigan Event Prep Recap

A huge thanks to Scott Mattern for joining us and sharing plenty of practical tips and tricks to help riders prepare for this year’s event. From pacing and nutrition to bike setup and what to expect out on course, there was a lot of valuable insight for both first-timers and seasoned riders alike.

The excitement for this year’s ride is definitely building, and if last night was anything to go by, the Devils Cardigan community is ready for a massive event!

Bike Setup & Spares

We had plenty of discussion around bike spares and what riders should be carrying out on course during the Devils Cardigan

Nutrition

Nutrition was another big focus for the evening, with Rob from Moor Endurance Fuel sharing plenty of advice on how to stay fuelled throughout the Devils Cardigan.

  • Three on course feed stations setup by Moor Endurance Fuel with energy gels and pre-mixed electrolyte powder. Visit their site for nutritional info. 
  • carry min 2 waterbottles (elastic strapped in as prone to bouncing out on course)
  • make sure to correctly hydrate prior to start line

Clothing

One of the biggest topics of the night was what clothing to wear for the Devils Cardigan — and for good reason. Tasmania’s weather can change quickly out on course, so being prepared for all conditions is key.

Overall, the evening was a great chance for riders to come together, share knowledge and get prepared for this year’s Devils Cardigan. From clothing and nutrition to bike setup and spares, there were plenty of valuable conversations and practical advice shared throughout the night.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the evening such a great success. It was awesome to see so much excitement building ahead of the event, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone out on course soon.
